Downtown San Diego CA Real Estate

Testimonials and Press

The following are all recent San Diego Union Tribune articles about Ann and Dale and their local real estate accomplishments . . . .

"Le Baron/Bowen Setting Records"

Top-producing sales associates Ann LeBaron and Dale Bowen continue to set new sales records downtown. And in their typical style, they’re not resting on last month’s laurels – that’s when they hit a new high mark by selling a Harbor Club condo at $672 per square foot. Now they have their sights set on selling a full-floor penthouse at $1,300 per square foot.

Bowen and LeBaron have been with The Willis Allen Company since 1998. In addition to their work at downtown’s luxury buildings, they’re also taking reservations for what will be La Jolla’s newest and most elegant Mediterranean villas at 464 Prospect Street. More than half of them are already spoken for.

"Willis Allen Agents Make History"

Dale Bowen and Ann LeBaron of the Willis Allen Company’s La Jolla office have made real estate history with their latest sale at The Harbor Club. They just closed escrow on the 38th floor penthouse, offering spectacular harbor, downtown and ocean views, and coming with the highest price tag ever for a downtown San Diego condominium -- $4,681,500.

The high-tech beauty was designed by architect Ken Ronchetti and features 4,200+ square feet of elegantly appointed space . . . that works out to approximately $1,100 per square foot – the highest dollar amount per square foot for a condo in Southern California.

Bowen and LeBaron, who joined The Willis Allen Company in 1998, are also associates for one of La Jolla’s newest luxury developments, 464 Prospect (now under construction). It will consist of 47 Mediterranean-style villas at the old Scripps Hospital site.

"Topping out: Penthouse Sale Sets A Record"

Just when you think we’ve reached the final real estate milestone, another deal sets a countywide record.

On the heels of the sale of the $22 million estate in Rancho Santa Fe, a penthouse condo in downtown San Diego sold last month for more than $4.6 million.

Actually, the 38th-floor condo at the Harbor Club was two condos combined for a total of 4,170 square feet. That’s more than $1,000 per square foot.

"I’m convinced that without a doubt this is the most expensive condo per square foot ever sold in the county," says Greg Smith, San Diego County tax assessor-recorder-clerk.

Though the agents, Dale Bowen and Ann LeBaron of Willis Allen, are mum about the seller, county records show it was the Arthur E. Nicholas Trust. Yes, that’s the Nicholas in Nicholas-Applegate Capital Management; the Nicholas who also owns a comfortable spread on the beach in Del Mar.

The buyer is a woman who owns a condo in a Phoenix high-rise and a house on 23 acres in Santa Fe. Apparently, she bought a condo on the 23rd floor of San Diego’s twin towers and liked it so much she decided to move up.

The new high-tech condo was designed by architect Ken Ronchetti with the best of everything, according to Bowen and LeBaron, who both own condos at The Club.

They say the first thing the new buyer moved in was a handcrafted nesting game table, ready for everything from roulette to backgammon.
